Why facial oil at all? Facial oil as a wonder remedy
Share
We don't believe in conventional cosmetics – but rather that the best medicine for young and healthy skin comes from ourselves and from nature! And we set out to find the perfect ingredients to create our perfect skincare with all the essential nutrients. In January 2016, our first product came to market in its initial version.
Facial oils offer comprehensive care without being complicated. In combination with Vitamin E, this is a true wonder weapon and indispensable in any bathroom. All TocoCare products are exclusively from organic sources, free from artificial ingredients and preservative-free. For TocoCare, intensive care with the best possible oxidative protection for every skin type is always our priority.
Why facial oil at all? Facial oil as a wonder remedy
Facial oils are no longer a secret among beauty experts! Especially for sensitive or problem-prone skin, a facial oil is highly recommended in your routine. Whether summer or winter - for every skin type there are facial oils tailored to individual skin conditions or specific skin concerns.
The uncomplicated application is just one of many great advantages of facial oils. Pure oils also have a multitude of powers:
Synthetic additives - not with facial oils: High-quality oils require no addition of synthetic preservatives or emulsifiers.
Goes deep under the skin: Pure plant oils have the ability to penetrate better and deeper into the skin – even deeper skin layers benefit.
The key to skin – antioxidants: Antioxidants provide protection against free radicals that can attack and age our skin. Facial oils therefore contribute excellently to our skin's cellular health.
Skin in balance: Facial oils with purely natural ingredients restore balance by supporting the skin's own functions. Our skin needs time to get rid of synthetic substances.
All these benefits and more optimize the skin's natural functioning!
Oil mixed with water creates the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and mold. To prevent the formation of such fungi, preservatives are often added to creams, which can disrupt or even destroy our skin flora – a harmful cycle!
Plant oils, on the other hand, nourish and care for the skin comprehensively without negative effects.
A cream made from purely natural ingredients can be excellently mixed with pure oils to achieve special effects. Our TocoCare Balsam is perfect for this: Our Balsam provides rich care for face and body, delivering intensive moisture to dry and stressed skin. TocoCare Balsam cares for sensitive skin with shea butter and coconut oil. Reddened and irritated skin areas as well as stressed body parts are strengthened with natural Vitamin E.
Vitamin E – a discovery that changed our lives
Tocotrienol is the superior form of Vitamin E. The vitamin has many wonderful properties that benefit our skin. Unfortunately, few people know about this topic yet – which is why it's important to us to educate about the common misconceptions regarding Vitamin E! Because Vitamin E deficiency shows primarily through dry and wrinkled skin, but also through poor and slow wound healing.
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant - the skin is optimally protected from free radicals, among other things. This way, Vitamin E counteracts premature skin aging and keeps our skin fresh and young longer. Besides slowing skin aging, Tocotrienol also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. This accelerates skin wound healing and ensures that pimples and blemishes heal faster. Especially for dry skin, Vitamin E is a must-have as it strengthens the natural protective barrier. This promotes skin cell renewal and supports the moisture balance. Improving and increasing the skin's moisture balance and reducing UV-related skin changes like age spots, sunburn and skin aging is another positive effect of Vitamin E. Additionally, skin resistance increases and can protect against harmful environmental influences like UV rays.
All the positive properties of Vitamin E led us to decide that every person should have access to uncompromised cosmetics with this unique addition, the Vitamin E complex.
Minimalist skincare?
Facial oils are very economical products – 1 to 2 drops are enough for daily facial care. Here applies: less is more!
Not only the economy, but also the versatile use of oils is a big topic in minimalism. Facial oils can be used for care, but also for cleansing or as a base for masks and scrubs. Our cuticles and hair ends are also grateful for a pampering treatment with high-quality oils.
The oil is best applied morning and evening after cleansing to still-damp skin on the face, neck and possibly décolletage. The skin can also be moistened with facial toner without problems. Pure rose water can protect against redness in combination with facial oil. Our tip for application: oils can be applied even better with moistened fingers.
The best facial oil for my skin type
Every skin is different – therefore the various facial oils work differently for everyone. Depending on what effect you want to achieve, a different oil is recommended. What is too rich for combination skin can be exactly right for dry skin and therefore the perfect choice. Professional and individual consultation or a competent contact person for questions is therefore important on this topic.
Natural oils as true anti-aging wonder weapons
With approximately 3 million cells per cm², skin is the human body's largest organ. These cells can be attacked by free radicals.
Free radicals arise, for example, from:
- Environmental influences like UV and infrared rays, as well as air pollution
- Autoimmune processes
- Consumption of alcohol, tobacco and unhealthy foods
- Antioxidants bind free radicals, whereby oxidative stress of cells, which can lead to premature skin aging, is transported away.
Tocotrienols are particularly effective because they can overcome the cell membrane and act directly in the cell.
The rich care stimulates the skin's own immune system and thus improves cell protection, but also prevents the breakdown of collagen fibers in cells – direct anti-aging therefore.
Evening primrose oil is a comedogenic oil that is very suitable for aging skin. Through its use, skin becomes more elastic and fresh, and redness is also reduced. Due to its high content of gamma-linolenic acid, the oil promotes skin regeneration and also has skin-caring properties. You can find evening primrose oil, for example, in our TocoCare Balsam or TocoCare Elixir: Our Elixir can be used very sparingly due to its high concentration. Morning and evening after cleansing, only 1-2 drops of Elixir should be applied to dripping wet fingers and gently massaged into the skin on face, neck and décolletage. We also recommend applying the TocoCare Elixir before sunbathing with additional sun protection. For sunburn, you can immediately apply the oil to reddened areas, reducing skin damage and allowing the skin to calm down. The Elixir is suitable as year-round care for men and women of all ages and all skin types.
Apricot kernel oil: Thanks to the contained linoleic acid, apricot kernel oil has a smoothing and calming effect on the skin. The moisture balance is regulated and regeneration promoted. Apricot kernel oil is contained, for example, in TocoCare Akut. The highly effective Vitamin E concentrate is suitable for local skin care, as a treatment or to enhance existing cosmetics. The natural concentrate acts deep under the skin. The unique active ingredient combination of Tocotrienol, apricot kernel oil and borage seed oil gives the skin cell-renewing impulses and thus reduces damage from external environmental influences.
Rice bran oil: The character of rice bran oil is mainly characterized by its pleasant and moisturizing properties. Rice bran oil actively works against free radicals as it belongs to the strongest antioxidants. Additionally, the oil provides optimal care for sensitive, irritated and damaged skin. Rice bran oil is contained in all TocoCare products.
Does your skin feel tight after cleansing?
This can be a sign that your skin barrier is compromised and thus moisture loss from cells is promoted. We're talking about dry skin.
For daily cleansing of dry skin, besides moisturizing care, attention must also be paid to proper facial cleansing! It's best to use natural products – ideally in combination with high-quality oils. Our cleansing soap, like all our products, is made from 100% natural ingredients. Organic coconut oil, organic olive oil and Tocotrienol Vitamin E ensure gentle but effective skin cleansing. For daily cleansing with our soap, moisten your hands and face, take the soap and let it glide through your hands. Lather it lightly. Then massage the foam sparingly and gently onto the face, avoiding the eye area. Then wash the soap off your face with lukewarm water.
Dry skin often tends to redness, irritation and itching. To alleviate these complaints, much care is needed. Through proper application of oils, the skin barrier can regenerate and thus improve the skin's moisture content.
Shea butter is known for its soothing and smoothing effect on skin. Shea butter is often used to regulate moisture balance and is excellent for caring for very dry or stressed skin. Shea butter is contained in TocoCare Balsam and TocoCare Lip Balm. Our lip balm ensures beautiful, revitalized and healthy lips. It contains many antioxidants that protect lips from UV rays and other harmful environmental influences. Our cuticles and nails also appreciate the high-quality care of our lip balm.
From combination skin with impure skin – everyone gets the right product!
If you struggle with impure skin, keep your hands off comedogenic cosmetics! Mineral oils, silicones, emulsifiers and synthetic surfactants, but also artificial fragrances are considered highly comedogenic. These ingredients clog pores and thus promote impurities.
Impure and combination skin can be well cared for with non-comedogenic to slightly comedogenic oils. It's important that the care is not too rich.
Jojoba oil is well absorbed by the skin because it actually belongs to the wax category. It works antibacterially, anti-inflammatory and skin-smoothing. It also maintains the skin's moisture content and provides pleasant velvety softness. Jojoba oil is contained in TocoCare Elixir and TocoCare Lip Balm.
Borage seed oil: The medicinal herb is often used for many different skin conditions. Due to its high content of omega fatty acids, the oil can be used against dry skin, but also for treating eczema. It's therefore recommended more for scaly and reddened skin. Borage seed oil is contained in TocoCare Akut.
If you suspect acne, please have this clarified by a doctor first. Acne is a skin disease that should be taken seriously. With acne, pay special attention to moisturizing products.
Quality as the highest standard.
A facial oil is only as good as its ingredients. It's therefore important that these are high-quality oils – cold-pressed, unrefined, free from fragrances and natural! Be demanding when choosing your oil to ensure absorption of all nutrients.
Through high-quality ingredients that are free from chemicals, oils have a long shelf life. Those who want to achieve the best possible shelf life should close the container immediately after use.
